Just realised I forgot to announce myself here. Sorry...
I'm J. That's right, my name is one letter long.
I've been showing up for board game nights, but aside from the Christmas Dinner at Kapadokya and a brief appearance at the convention, I haven't been able to come to anything else. I'm also starting a Changeling: The Dreaming game for anyone who's interested.
I'm a table-top gamer by nature, with a fondness for board games as well, but I've experimented with LARP and I still have an old Magic deck that I haven't played since around 1995. I'm actually not really fond of D&D, as I prefer my games to be plot-oriented, rather than killing-monsters-and-taking-their-treasure oriented, but I'm familiar enough with it (and many other games besides) to get by.

Hi, I'm Ayesha.
Is it just me, or do we sound like a very hairy AA meeting?
I'm a LARPer, tabletopper (hee hee) and VC York for Changeling.

Whoops, hadn't realised posting here was a requirement. Teach me not to read announcements first!
My name is Erlend (it's Norwegian) and I'm in York only until summer. I've been toa couple of socials, but am a bit puzzled about who I am supposed to be approaching there. Like, whose ongoing game do I obnoxiously interrupt with my questions?

If you come to today's social then find me, (little person, top hat, probably working on physics problems or playing pool) and I can point you in the right direction depending on what you're interested in.

Hi Im Lee, 31 , sort of been off the LARP/RP radar for a while I attended some LARP Shadowvald but due to work commitments and r/l stuff it sort of got left behind ...i think i ended up monstering every session as a zombie (which was strange as im sure there wasnt always zombies originally ) Not sure if anyone i sort of knew is still around as been a good few years now and the only one i really knew was Nick (who i know from Liverpool Uni) I havent been a student for about 10yrs and am currently in a D&D3.5 game and starting to run a Greyhawk Campaign...and anything else old from 80's i still have.

Would that be Nick Livsey by any chance? He's still about He does Vampire and Changeling these days Shadovald ended about 2 years ago now (and it went out with a bang!) but there's a weekly Larp system still running during term times and it's pretty d**n good.

Tbh after knowing him for many years...cant remember his surname lol oops
Prob is the same Nick as he ran the Liverpool Vampire Larp with some people years ago.
I'll have to find my way back up to the uni at some time and see what rp/Larp etc is going on.
Is the new Larp run by same people as Shadowvald i think was Rhys or someone else now?

Greetings to ye! I have been summoned by your question about refs! I am Rob, one of the new lot.
It isn't the same group as Shadovald; after it ended a new group took up the job of running a regular LARP system in York. All of the new refs have varying levels of experience with Shadovald, my own only being the final year before it ended.
The new weekly LARP is named Shattered Legacies and if you are interested in knowing more post in the "Shattered Legacies" section or feel free to email in to shattered.legacies@gmail.com where a helpful ref will be able to respond.
As for Vampire/changeling Toph knows far more than myself as I have never taken part.

Lee - I remember who you are, but you probably don't remember me (I'm Dave, I used to play in Shadovald).
I'm pretty sure Nick Livesey is the same Nick you know.
Shattered Legacies is the current LARP and it's just as cool as Shadovald was (though zombies go by a different name nowadays).

Greetings, foreign clans!
Behold your newest member, known as Jenny. She likes to call herself cool fantasy names. Like Jadar of Kemalan.
But do not cheer just yet, for I have grave news to tell. Jadar of Kemalan has had many commtments bestowed upon her by her department, such as choir rehearsals, that happen to be on Monday night. She is of course mortified and wishes that no one will hadouken her in due course. However, she is free on Fridays, and will hope to join you all then.
Jadar of Kemalan plays Yu-Gi-Oh!, and wants to learn how to play Magic. Because she is "cool lyk dat". She is also interested in LARPing so she can become a supreme being and rule the world. She would also like to reiterate that that last remark could be negotiable, and could soften it to just being the Game Master of Dungeons and Dragons.
Salutations,
An insignificant messenger.

Hey folks!
Sparing no imagination with the user-name I'm Steve, a Maths PhD student.
Main interests are tabletop RPGs of various forms (D&D, Cthulhu, WoD, Deadlands + others) and occasional bit of boardgaming.
I used to play MTG very competitively a while ago playing in two Pro Tours, but found it too expensive to keep playing at that level. Also done a bit of LARPing, and may be tempted to purchase a couple of nice longswords at some point to swing around.
Anyway, hope to see a few of you around on Monday or Thursday evenings!
Steve

Yo! My name is Max and im interested in most of the stuff the society does! You will have seen me if you where at the last two larp sessions.
I am more into fantasy than science fiction but I still enjoy it anyway.
I will be taking part in larp all wednessdays unless uni work gets in the way and ill be on the sunday sessions once every 4 weeks untill I can get a kenjutsu lesson in york then I can take part more often but in general im at home on weekends.
I am looking to take part in table top games (if anyone will teach me) any larping that I am able to attend along with films and boardgames (although which session I turn up to depends on the films being shown).
I do have a wide veriety of interests outside sci fi and fantasy too. I am a general movie goer and buff in the making. I am into metal music, have an interest in japan and have played many video games in my time (but im guilty of playing more japanese ones than anything). I am also learning the guitar.
Anyway, give me a call if you ever need an extra guy for anything.
p.s. I am not hairy but I keep forgetting to shave at times....
