Hi all,
Maelstrom is a 4-times-yearly larp event, details of which can be found here: www.profounddecisions.co.uk/, and which I shall not take too much time to describe here.
I would like to go as a group. I would consider taking a group only if it has 6 *definites*. The benefits of taking a group are manifold, and if you want to hear why, I can explain that elsewhere too (and might do in my LJ anyway: also irrelevant).
This thread is to track interest in the group concept that I would dearly love to take to Maelstrom: as a group concept, it is of course open to compromise - that is the spirit of a 'group'.
I think there would be a lot of mileage and a lot of fun in taking a group of 'aggresively friendly', common/scum group of fairly clueless and careless natives to Maelstrom. I think it would be a lot of fun to turn up, be forthright and rude, but not nastily - instead, just *not thinking things through*.
Ideally, I would like to not have our own camp, but instead bring sufficient set dressing to be able to wander into someone's camp, and interpret whatever they say as permission to camp with them: that is, *on* them - throw our set dressing over theirs, declare it our camp as well, and instantly generate roleplay with whoever it is we pick on.
I want to go to have a good laugh, to basically spend time with my OOC friends, to get quite drunk, and to raise a smile on the faces of other random larpers with a group idea and group dynamic that hasn't been seen in Maelstrom yet. It's unique, it's fun, it won't impact too negatively on other people's games, and the idea of friendly scum is an easy one to dip into and create your own character ideas off of.
That all said: I want 6 definites before I will take the group to the game.
Easter Maelstrom is 10th-13th April. Please reply here with levels of certainty and dedication to the group idea.
