I'm a first year and I've only gone to one of the socials in the first term. I've not been very active in any of the societies I've joined for the first two terms this year as I've been busy/ill/lazy/trading-stocks. However, I want to get more active with the uni societies and one of things I'd like to do is try D&D. I've never played D&D before, but I have a pretty good gist of how it all works. I don't mind what edition rules are used as I've never played any edition before. I don't know if there are any open groups at the socials or conventions as I've not been active in the society - so are their any groups open for a complete newbie like me?

I can't speak for anyone else, but if there are no groups available, the convention will have a load of one-off games you'd be welcome to join. Perhaps after some experience of a few different games in a few different systems you'd have a better idea of what you enjoyed - if you even enjoyed it

Hey Cape, I'm looking to assemble a group here having just moved to York to do my MA in Med Lit...if you're still looking and interested, drop me a note.
Cheers, Rob
