At the risk of inviting a barrage of rage, what do people make of them? I think for the most part they're pretty good. Not sure about combat, but hey, I'll give it a go before I decide. I care about mana burn less than I expected to.

Seem pretty OK to me, a lot of tricks get put in the dustbin of time but by and large the whole game ought to flow well. Time will tell, of course.

I've heard that there's going to be a price hike of 50%. Is this true?

I didn't even know there had been a rules change until I saw this thread, but then I have been out of the loop regarding Magic since the Conflux pre-release events. And another price hike? 50%? That'd be insane; the prices were high enough to begin with. Where did you hear that? See, I rather miss playing a few games of Magic now and then, especially drafting, but the cost was really just getting to be too much...

Well these are certainly calmer posts than this question has received elsewhere. daegh: Pretty much what I've made of it so far. Less sneaky, but the game moves along more easily, and there's still a reasonable amount of trickery to be had. f.e.: I haven't heard anything about it, but I sincerely hope not. I've also not heard anything regarding prices. I'm still resisting charging more for the small number of boosters I get to sell on. In other news, there's a rumour that Lightning Bolt is coming back... { p.s. the 'gh' in 'daeghnao' is silent }

I believe Rosewater's twitter is a fairly solid confirmation of that rumour: "If you haven't heard yet, Lightning Bolt is coming back in Magic 2010. I'm curious what all of you think about its return." So... yeah.

Ah, that's OK then. I have to be careful about what's officially public and what's rumoured, and I don't always catch all of the various updates. You kids and your 'twitter'...
