People are going to look at me funny for saying this, but does anyone out there play card games other than Magic?
I ask because I have a load of Yu Gi Oh cards and haven't played a game in ages. Anybody fancy a game?
If anyone is interested, I have a shoebox full of spare commons (and the odd rare) that need getting rid of.

Actually, I play games other than Magic. I haven't had a chance to play any of them in years, but I have a few decks of Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, as well as a Runner deck and a Corporate Deck for the Netrunner game that never got very popular (which is a shame, since I thought it was a great game).
I'm also a major fan of the Arcadia card game that was based on Changeling: The Dreaming. I have collected the entire run of both sets.

i do have a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh cards, though I haven't played for over a year, so it would need to be edited for advanced rules.

Hi guys, just to mention that over the years we've had our fair share of card games. People were playing Rage, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Buffy, Legend of the Five Rings, Star Trek and the Lord of the Rings, to name but a few. It's only Magic that's really stuck, but the others are all interesting diversions. The convention this weekend ought to be a fine place to try out different games and see if there's some common ground.

Hey, I'm actually going to be free Thursday for the social, so I'm going to try and throw together a Yu Gi Oh deck or two if anybody's interested in a game

We're back and still have the Sailor Moon cards. Oh, and decks for Rage, V:tES, Pokemon, L5R and all. Plus it's worth mentioning that the recently-revived/dead Cthulhu card game was dandy. Decks available to be played against, big pile of random cards available for further decks to be built out of. So yep, non-Magic ftw. ....Also, would anyone object to homebrew MtG stuff being played, subject to peer review? Face it, it can't be worse than the "Hai I'm Tarmogoyf/Bitterblossom" crap that Wizards print these days, in their wisdom.

I only play Yu-Gi-Oh! for the moment too, as I took one look at the Magic rules and just fainted at their complexities lol xD I'm afraid lots of socials with this soc clash with more important commitments like choir rehearsals. I've already told Fleur this and I'm hoping to reach a compromise, but we can always meet up one-on-one and duel. What kind of deck do you have..? And how good are you?

I've never really played the game competitively but I can throw a half-decent deck together. I'm generally in favour of something fun and themed rather than something that can draw the entire deck and steamroller my opponent in one turn. If I find time to drag myself along to a social at some point I'll bring a deck with me

Hey, I was just looking for places in York to play Yugioh and I came across this, so if anyone's interested I'd be up for a game. I'm not a member of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Soc, but would have no problems becoming one. If you want to arrange something, my email is jfh504@york.ac.uk, so drop me a message.
